Act 4
Reunited at last

Duncan: ♥ Charmed ♥

I was kissing her after out short but massive argument about the mistake I made yesterday.  She was back in my arms, where she belonged, and I wasn’t about to let any other guy take her away.
“I’m sorry.”  I said pulling away from her a little.  “I said yes out of anger because Honesty said you were over me.  I really like you Courtney.”
She smiled.  “I’m sorry too.” She replied holding my chest close to her.  “I should have never told my sister about me being over you when I really wasn’t.  It was a stupid mistake.”
I touched her face gently, lowering my head so I could kiss her again.  “I missed you too, Princess.”
“Aww, it’s so sweet.”  Tristan looked like he was watching some lame romantic soap opera.
“Go jump in a lake.” I told him.  It was a pretty lame attempt at an insult… for me anyway.  He walked away feeling unneeded.  I turned to Courtney.  “I’ll break my date with Angela, the only person I want to see tonight is you.”
“I’d love that.”  Courtney was a lot more peaceful now that we’ve straightened things out.   “I got to go.  Pick me up at 7?”  She winked at me.
“Fine by me, see you later beautiful.”  She gave me a quick peck on the cheek before waving herself off.
I stood in awe of her the entire time.  She just had that effect on me, it was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.  I had never been so happy in my entire life.
“So you gonna tell me who she was?”  Tristan appeared again.
“That…was Courtney, the most beautiful girl in the world and she’s mine.”  I didn’t care about his weird wonder about my love life.  I had an overwhelming sense of accomplishment, and all I had to do was go to work and kiss her.
Perfect.  I could get used to life like this.
I suddenly remembered Angela.  ‘I better call her and break our date.’
I punched in her number that was written neatly on my hand.  She picked up on the third tone.
“Hello?”  She answered.
“Hey, Ange, its Duncan…”
She cut me off.  “Oh, hey Baby!  I was just thinking about you.”  She was obviously showing me off to her friends.
“Actually, I was calling because I’m gonna have to break our date tonight, and any other further dates you may ask me on.”  I was a little conceited about the situation.
“But…why?”
“Well, me and my girlfriend just hooked up again after our ‘little break’ and I’m not one for three-way relationships.  I’m more of a one-woman guy.”
She was speechless for a second there.  “But, but…”
“See you later!”  I hung up.  I felt no sympathy for her even though she did have a massive crush on me.
I smiled.  I felt happy after a month of sadness and discipline.  But I was charmed.  My mind revolved around everything Courtney and well that lead into some serious concentration on her.  So serious I couldn’t hear anyone talking to me when they were supposedly informing me of their car problems.  It didn’t matter though; Mr. Addison was on a sick day, leaving me in-charge.  So, as first official act of being manager for a day, I gave myself the rest of the day off.

I needed to buy something for Courtney.  Something that said ‘I missed you and I can’t go a single day without thinking of you’.  You know something that she will remember me by other than a skull carved out of wood.
Then I found it…the perfect gift.

Courtney:  ♥ Happiness is feeding the Princess out of its hand ♥

I had a permanent smile on my face.  I felt like a million dollars.
I walked through the front door of my house and sat down on the couch.  Then it hit me.  ‘I had a date tonight but nothing to wear’.  I ran up to my room looking for something nice to wear, not my original boring outfits, I needed something that drew attention and make Duncan feel like he’s got the one girl everyone wants to be with.
‘Nothing.’  I decided to call my sister if she could get off work early and help me.  After all, everyone thought she was hot.  Why can’t they like me?
Honesty came back from work one hour earlier then she usually did.  “Hey, come up to my room.  You going somewhere tonight?”
I grinned.  “Yeah, Duncan and I made up today.”
Her dark eyes lit up.  “Really?  But I thought that girl and him were going to go out.”
“He broke it.  He was only going out with her to make me jealous and well, it worked.”
“Oh my god!  Tell me everything.” Honesty was a sucker for details.  She always wanted to know everything about everyone.  Especially me.
I told her everything that had happened that afternoon, especially the part where he kissed me.
She almost melted I the indulgence of the story.  “Your like a little princess with that ‘happy ever after’ ending.”
I blushed a little recalling his nickname I hated before on the island because I thought he was mocking me.  Turns out, he uses it for almost every girl.  Which didn’t really make me feel any better but at least I knew he liked me best.
On her bed, she propped up a black miniskirt with a hot pink halter-top.
“Don’t you think that’s a little risqué?”  I asked her nervously
“Yeah, I guess.”  She said looking at my expression.
Instead she pulled out a long black and white dress that was very tight at the top but loosened up near the waist.  It was about as long as my ankles.  The neck was a little low but nothing I wasn’t prepared for.  She also pulled out little strap high-heeled sandals.  I tried it on and it fit perfectly.  It was so gorgeous.
“Now let me do your hair and make-up.  You will look perfect.  Duncan won’t be able to get his hands off you.”
“Uh, okay?”  I wasn’t so sure about the last comment but I went along.  She curled my freakishly straight hair and put it up in a half ponytail.  Then she did my make-up.  She worked like a professional, so concentrated.  By the time she was done it was almost 7.  “Hurry.  He’ll be here soon.”
“Shh…I’m concentrating.”
Thankfully, Mom was at another one of her book clubs because she would never let me leave the house like this.  It was nothing too bad but she was very protective.
I grabbed my purse and re-applicated my lipstick.
Duncan showed up in this very shiny looking Honda Civic.  Honesty ran out to talk to him.  “I got her all formal like you wanted.”
“Perfect.”
I walked over to the door.  Duncan dropped his jaw.
“Courtney?  Is that really you?  Or am I dreaming?”
I giggled.  “No, it’s me.
“Well then, Princess,” he was clearly amused of my new sexy formal look; “we’re in for a good night.”  He took my hand and brought me out to his very expensive-looking car.  I waved to my sister.
“Wow, you sure do know how to clean-up.”  I complimented.  He was wearing black jeans, and a black T-shirt.  The night was fairly warm so we weren’t cold.  But his piercings stayed put.  Thankfully instead of the spiked dog collar, he wore a gold chain around his neck, which was a major improvement.
You too, Babe.”  He kissed me on the cheek before starting up the engine.  I was getting pretty warm sitting next to him.  I was a little nervous.
“So where are we going?”  I asked him.  “I got us reservations at this restaurant.”  He replied kind of embarrassed about showing his newfound kindness. “It’s a place I always thought was amazing.  I’ve uh, been waiting for a special girl to take there.”
“Really…that’s so sweet Duncan.”  I would have never thought he was a romantic.  Then he parked in front of the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever seen.

Duncan: ♥ “Anything for you, Princess” ♥

“What…is…this?”  Courtney stared at the magnificent hotel is shock and amazement.
“Well, we’re here.”  I told her.  “This is the place where my dad first took out my mom.  It’s pretty much ancient but it has the best restaurant.”  I said trying hard not to sound cheesy.
I thought she was going to cry.  “It’s beautiful.”  A tear rolled down her cheek as expected.
“Come on.”  I got out of the car and went over to her side.  I opened the door for her.  I took her hand as she stepped out.
“Reservations for two under Duncan.”  I said to the host.
“Right this way, Sir.”  He led us up to our table.
Courtney was still in shock, looking around at all the decorations while still clenched to my hand.  “How could you afford this kind of place?”
“I’ve been working for a long time, I needed some coin to get me what I wanted.  My parents weren’t too fond of me so they wouldn’t give me any money.  There’s no point on going to college seeing no one will hire me with my rap sheet.  I’ll be stuck working for Addison being a mechanic the rest of my life I guess.  But the money’s great there.”
“I’ve actually been wanting to ask you about that.  But…have you ever wished you could change all that so you could get a career?”
“Sometimes, but I haven’t had enough time to think of my future when I started committing the crimes I’ve done.  The cops have been on me since I was seven.”  I explained.
“How did you get a criminal record when you were seven?”  I didn’t like to talk about this kind of stuff but Courtney seemed really interested in my life so I decided to keep going.
“Well, I had just turned seven and my life had taken a turn for the worst.  My dog Petey running away, my grandfather had just died.  And some kids were bossing on me a lot, teasing me and stealing important things away from me.  I got so fed up with them; I punched ‘em both to get them on the ground.  I let my temper get the best of me and I started jumping on them causing their bones to break or crack.  They were both hospitalized.  I realized my own strength that day, and I realized how bad I could be.  But, I liked how I felt after that.  I was proud of myself for standing up for myself.  Ever since then I’ve just felt more comfortable on the opposite side of the law.”
I may have scared Courtney a little bit because she was silent for a while.  I looked at her comfortingly and took her hand.  “But…” I looked at her in the eyes and said the words I have never said to anyone in my life nor have I ever planned to.   “You make me want to be a better person Courtney.”
She was completely speechless so she came over to me and kissed me.  “That is the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me.”  She kissed me again.  “You’re so amazing and full of surprises.”
Interrupting out moment, the waiter asked.  “Can I start you with anything to drink?”
Courtney moved back to her seat.  “I’ll have an iced tea please.”
“I’ll have a coke, I guess.”  Trying hard not to dis or challenge the waiter in my plan to become a better person for Courtney.
“Coming right up.”  He spoke with a phony English accent trying to be formal but I could see right through it, being in juvenile detention with a couple immigrants from England.
After dinner, I took her to the lakeside.  Just so I could be with her longer.  Just us, counting the stars and cuddling up to the fire that I started for us.
“This is officially the best night I’ve ever had.”  Courtney confessed.  “Who knew you could really turn a girl on like that?”
“Hey, I know how to treat a girl. I’ve grown up watching my brothers.  They’ve taught me almost everything I know.  I added on a couple of my own moves.”
“Well then, they taught you well.” She laughed.  “So what have you been up to the past couple weeks?”
“Trying to get over you.  Which isn’t easy by the way.  I did a couple of things out of anger and frustration thinking I can never see you again.  I had to deal with the consequences later.”  I smiled.  “What about you?”
“About the same I guess, but I can deal with my anger a little better.  I really missed you.”
“Me too, girl.”  Courtney cuddled up to me.  “All I want to do is kiss you right now.”
I held her close as my lips met hers.  I could taste the strawberry flavour of her lipgloss.  She looked beautiful with the moonlight shining on her radiant brown hair.   I had everything I wanted right here in my arms.  She was everything.
“Hey,” I said pulling my face away from her but holding her just as close,  “I got you something.”  I reached into my pocket pulling out a little box.
She opened it carefully, incase it was valuable.  Inside was a silver bracelet with diamonds half way around it that I engraved just for her.  It read:
‘To my princess.  Love Duncan.”
“Oh my god!”  She choked out in tears.  “Duncan!  It’s beautiful!  I can’t you would do something like this for me!”
“Anything for you, Princess.”  I leaned back in again to kiss her.
Act 4

If any of you don't mind...I'd like a picture of Courtney in the dress that I described when she was going out with Duncan, since I'm no good with the computer tech stuff. The TDI Me took me a while to get and I'm not too fond of it ;P Ty!
